Lyndsay's Birthday Party

Here are the pitures from the festivities Sunday. There was all a BBQ too, but I think all the photographers must have been hungry because I didn't get a single picture of the food.

Ramblings of a cripple.

Well, I'm back to work for sure. Tonight I believe is the first time I've gotten home before 8 p.m. since being back in the saddle. We've got way more work than we have guys to do it, and the "upper level" bosses basically have let everyone know that it's on us to handle it. Well, there is no way to handle it so I've just told them to do all they can, then go home. It amazes me how this company stays solvent with all the "managers" in the middle trying to justify a job while not giving a damn about the only people that make the company money, the installers. It is quite nice to be back out in the field with the fellas though.

I'm nearly walking without a limp now, but my leg is still pretty weak. I tried to do some attic work last Friday, but jumping from joist to joist didn't work out to well so I called in my backup...Al. I'm getting there pretty quick though, and maybe the 100 degree days are close to going away.

I can't believe dad sold his bike. I've not talked to him about it yet, and at first I thought it was all about an upgrade to the latest model. Now I'm beginning to wonder. I've still not ordered the last part for mine as a safety net. I figure the day that I think I'm ready to ride, I'll order the taillight thus forcing another week of recovery time for the leg. I could ride now, but I really want my leg closer to 100% in case I get off balance at a light or something. I'd say by the end of next month I should be riding.

We had a huge party here on Sunday for Lyndsays birthday. It went very well, and there are lots of pictures sitting on this camera waiting for me to upload them. I won't get into detail since I've got to do another blog for it, but a good time was had by all.

Back to work.

I just returned from the surgeons office with permission to return to my van on Monday. He was very happy with progress so far and I've only got to see him one more time in six weeks.

This is good news for a number of reasons, the main one being no more $150 per week gasoline bills. And I get to sleep until 7 am in the morning instead of 5. I was getting pretty tired of watching the soap opera that is our office anyway.

More drag racing goodness.

Kevin wanted to know what kind of cars I was running against Friday night so I'm dropping this youtube link so you all can get an idea. About half way through this video you'll see me get beat by a black Charger.....but that was also my best run (see timeslip below). In my defense he had threw quite a bit of money at his.

So, I did four runs. I raced a tricked out SRT Magnum first, then the Black SRT Charger, a VERY tricked out new GTO that ran 11's, and finally the R/T Magnum that I beat in Deb's video.

I was a helluva fun weekend.

Charger SRT at the track.

The above time slip was of my best run, not the one in the video. Although I did get beat bad in this one. I'm car #2 and this was my second run of the night.

I'll have more on this later, but here is a teaser for now. Notice the commentary from the videographer. She acts like it's the worst thing ever, but she is still driving around town with the numbers on the side window like a teenager.
